Unlock the Insights That Changed My Life
Each week, I share a glimpse of my ideas and perspectives on life in short 5-minute emails. But there’s so much more depth to explore.
We’ve all heard the old adage: Time is money.
But that’s not quite right, is it?
Time is not the currency that buys transformation. It’s the container.
What fills that container—what actually moves the needle—is action.
You can have 24 hours to play with, and still end the day further from the life you want.
Why? Because time doesn’t guarantee movement.
You can squander it. Waste it. Watch it slip through your fingers like sand.
So if it’s not time, then what is the real currency?
Action.
Action is the only medium of exchange the world accepts.
It’s the only thing that creates return. It’s the only thing that reshapes your identity, your surroundings, and your outcomes.
You can spend hours on insightful podcasts, therapy breakthroughs, or late-night journaling epiphanies.
But without action, none of it cashes out.
Action is the bridge between where you are and who you could become.
And we’re not just talking about aimless action. We need to act with intent.
What that means is that our actions need to align with our aspirations.
When you act with intention, you reaffirm that you are not a passenger in your own life. You are the driver.
You’re not sitting in the backseat hoping your environment changes—you’re grabbing the wheel.
And unlike time, action can’t be stolen from you.
Your calendar can be hijacked. Your attention can be pulled.
But when you choose to act—even in a small way—you’re reclaiming the transaction.
This is the mechanism of life:
You give something. You get something.
And the medium that mediates that exchange is not time.
It’s action.
Picture this:
Two people, same 24 hours.
One wakes up, trains, works, spends time with family, cooks, reads, goes to bed.
The other hits snooze, drifts through work, orders takeout, and zoned out through most of it.
Same time. Very different returns.
The difference? Not intelligence. Not motivation.
Action.
We often say time heals everything.
But really?
Action heals.
Because time without movement is just existence.
It’s a blank page left untouched.
As Chris Williamson says, action is the antidote to anxiety.
It anchors you in the present. It disrupts inertia.
It reminds your nervous system that you’re not helpless. You’re involved. You’re engaged. You’re in control.
So the question isn’t how much time you have.
The question is: What are you doing with it?
Because ultimately—action is your currency.
And the market is always open.
