Unlock the Insights That Changed My Life
Each week, I share a glimpse of my ideas and perspectives on life in short 5-minute emails. But there’s so much more depth to explore.
There are some things you simply can’t fix.
Yes, racism exists.
Sexism exists.
Injustice happens.
Bad things happen to good people.
Alright, so… can you fix it all?
The simple answer is no. No, you can’t.
So you opt for the (seemingly) next best possible option.
We get enraged. We complain.
And it’s tempting to get caught in the loop of outrage. To shout at the sky about how unfair the system is. And you'd be right — it is unfair.
But does that really change anything?
The simple answer is no. No, it doesn’t.
What does then?
Ownership.
Take Vaibhav Suryavanshi — a 14-year-old kid who smashed the second-fastest century in the Indian Premier League history.
Most people would’ve written him off before he picked up the bat. “He’s too young.” “He’s just a kid.” “He should be in school.” But he showed up anyway. And he delivered.
People judged him. They underestimated him. And they were wrong.
We all carry something that makes us “less likely to succeed” in the eyes of others -your background, your gender, your passport, your bank account.
And while those factors might limit your starting point, they don’t define your trajectory.
You can’t control the hand you were dealt. But you can control how you play it.
That’s the real game.
So - will you let the weight of unfairness paralyze you? Or will you pick up the bat, step onto the field, and play your shot anyway?
The world may not be fair.
But your response to it?
That’s entirely up to you.
